Maine Support Network is Seeking Educators Interested in Summer Internships!
(Pending External Funding)

  • Do you have the interest and skills to assist MSN with a variety of work in the areas of Professional Development, and Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports?
  • Do you want to earn some extra money this summer?

As you know, MSN does a wide variety of work in the area of professional development. Additionally, the Maine Partnership of Partnerships was recently awarded a grant from the Maine Department of Education to provide professional development in the area of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).

We are seeking a few enthusiastic teachers, or related service providers, interested in assisting with the development of materials, websites, and project activities. We will provide up to five (5) educators with a stipend of up to $1,500! We anticipate that the majority of the work can be done this summer, but some of the activities may extend into the upcoming school year.

Here are some examples of the types of tasks that will need to be completed:

  1. Designing moodle courses or book studies on hot topics facing educators.
  2. Creating a website (or materials for posting) consisting of information and resources on PBIS across the age span of birth to age 20.
  3. Designing online moodles or book studies for educators, and teams of educators, on Collaborative Problem Solving (Ross Greene’s work).
  4. Designing online moodles, book studies, or other creative strategies for educators and teams on PBIS, including FBA, RTI, etc.
  5. Developing a blog site, and accompanying materials, that provide information and resources regarding Maine’s Chapter 33 (Regulations Governing Time-out Rooms, Restraint, and Aversives).
  6. Developing a blog site, and accompanying materials, to assist educators in understanding the impact of mental health diagnoses on children’s behavior.

How to Apply

Send your resume, a cover letter indicating your areas of interest, and a description of the gifts and talents (including the use of technology) you will bring to this work, to the Maine Support Network (coleen@mainesupportnetwork.org) no later than July 15, 2009.
